Fernando Valle Callejas
Architect & Furniture designer

Fernando is an Nicaraguan Architect specialized in Sustainable Architecture and with Master in Furniture Design. Currently he works based mostly in Barcelona and Oslo. He combines his architectural work with his creative restlessness in furniture design and photography.

«Since I started studying architecture, I put a lot of emphasis on the furniture that went on the buildings that I was designing by making them specifically and uniquely for that project. In my last year of studies, there was an entrepreneur fair happening where all the students had to create a brand and a product. I decided to participate and I ended up winning with a furniture brand I helped create. That's when all clicked and since then I've been designing furniture.

Most of the time, I'm inspired by art and culture. Sometimes I could be watching a movie and with just one scene I can get the inspiration for a building or a piece of furniture. I've worked in different countries and to feel the energy of the place... it changes the whole mood, and that's what excites me from this workshop, that we are going to be able to exchange culture and ideas», — Fernando Valle
Raffaella Grisolia
Raffaella is an Artist and an Interior & Furniture Designer from Republica Dominicana. Currently she lives & work in Barcelona where she combines her passion for design, photography & aesthetics.

«I was always very interested in the subject of design, when it came to interiors I related it a lot to psychology, how different colours or shapes made the user react in different ways, then when I entered the world of furniture / product design I was fascinated by the idea of creating something that later became a real object, it still seems incredible to me, that an idea / image in my mind can exist in the physical world.

I am inspired by nature, simplicity but above all, functionality, I think it is the most valuable aspect in any design.

I think that all designers feel that passion to teach, or more than anything to talk and discuss about these issues, the materials, the shapes, the whole process and of course, what better situation to do this than with a group of people who are also inspired and want to learn more about this subject», — Raffaella Grisolia
Fernando and Raffaella met working together during the Master of Furniture Design in Elisava — University School of Design and Engineering in Barcelona, taught by the professor Christophe Mathieu:

«The Master`s goal was the realization of the entire product design process, from the idea, through technical development to it`s full execution. Fernando and Raffaella proposed to design a coat hanger which result was a solid, practical, light product, whose execution turned out to be impeccable», — Christophe Mathieu
